Hey Guys!!!

I hope you enjoyed the episode and it gave you an insight into where the industry is heading. Here is the summary of the key points we discussed in this episode.

China Speed:

“China Speed” refers to the incredibly fast pace at which Chinese companies — and now even foreign automakers operating in China — are developing and deploying new technologies, especially AI. This includes cutting-edge ADAS, infotainment systems, and digital cockpits. In China, going from concept to mass production can sometimes happen in under 18 months. That’s lightning-fast compared to the usual 3 to 5 years in other markets.

VW’s take on “In China, For China” strategy:

VW is planning to debut its first house made AI powered ADAS vehicle with level 2++ capability and planned to be upgraded to level 3. As part of "In China, For China" policy, VW is building the AI in its JV company CARIZON (CARIAD and Horizon robotics) as it claims, in China speed. The system uses SoC System-on-the-Chip for high computing power and is trained on the platform GAIA. VW plans to integrate this into the Intelligent Connected Vehicles later in 2026. And interestingly, this model will be integrated into China specific "Compact Main Platform CMP".

ZF Annotate:

ZF Annotate, is a AI based system used for testing ADAS from level 2+ upto level 5. The company promises that their system can recognise a wide variety of objects thus reading the sensor data and delivering the accurate information to the vehicle to process it.

BMW’s Neue Klasse:

Together with Alibaba, BMW is developing a human-vehicle interaction software based on large language models. They upgraded their Intelligent Personal Assistant, -- powered by Deepseek's AI reasoning. The new Panaromic iDrive shows the vehicle’s trajectory, alerts you when it's safe to overtake, and gives lane guidance.

Hyundai’s Collaboration with Nvidia:

The Korean automaker announced its strategic partnership with Nvidia to implement AI in areas such as software defined vehicles, smart factory, robotics and autonomous driving. The Hyundai Group also uses AI enabled Simulations built by Siemens- Simcenter Engineering Services for their testing.

Tesla’s Cybercab:
